BRANZ – Repairing Plasterboard after an Earthquake

BRANZ has recently released research findings on ‘best practice remediation of housing bracing after earthquake damage’ as a result of research they have undertaken in Christchurch. This research including examining the extent of loss of lateral stiffness by houses that had plasterboard damage, where the plasterboard had in part or completely detached from the timber framing.

BRANZ are to publish information on doing damage assessments and carrying out remedial work in various BRANZ publications over the next month.
